Dr. McLear is a summa cum laude graduate of both the University of Pennsylvania School of Arts and Sciences and the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He pursued radiology as a specialty following a year of advanced training in small animal medicine and surgery in an intensive internship program at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. McLear finished his imaging residency at the University of Pennsylvania in July, 2000, and was inducted as a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Radiology in December, 2000. He is currently the Treasurer of the American College of Veterinary Radiology, an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, and a consultant for the Philadelphia Zoo. His interests outside of diagnostic imaging include computing, photography, and hiking.
